INDIANAPOLIS -- The Lincoln Memorial University men's tennis team will open NCAA Regional play against 12th-ranked Lander University on May 6 in Columbus, Georgia.

The NCAA announced the brackets for the 2010 Division II Men's Tennis Tournament late Wednesday.

The Railsplitters, who earned the automatic bid to the tournament by winning the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament, will play in the sub-bracket of the NCAA Southeast Region hosted by Columbus State University. Armstrong Atlantic State University hosts the other sub-bracket.

LMU was the only SAC team chosen for the 12-team bracket.

The Railsplitters (19-1) will face Lander (15-6) in the opening round. The Bearcats finished the season ranked fourth in the Peach Belt Conference. They are currently ranked 12th in the nation.

The Lander/LMU winner will play No. 14 Georgia College (15-6) in the second round.

In the other half of the bracket, No. 19 Augusta State (10-6) will play No. 26 USC Aiken (10-10) with the winner advancing to play No. 10 Columbus State (16-4).

This will be LMU's first appearance in the NCAA Southeast Regional since the school moved to the South Atlantic Conference in the fall of 2006 and their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since the 2006 season.

The 16 preliminary-round tournaments will be conducted May 6-7, 7-8 or 6-8, with the winner of each preliminary-round tournament advancing to the finals in Altamonte Springs, Florida, hosted by the Central Florida Sports Commission and Rollins College, May 12-15.
