Carson-Newman, Catawba, Tusculum Ranked in Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

The Carson-Newman women’s soccer team, which has advanced to the NCAA DII semifinals each of the past two years, is ranked fourth in the NSCAA/adidas Division II preseason poll.

Carson-Newman is one of three South Atlantic Conference teams to make the preseason poll. Catawba College, last year’s SAC champions, starts out the season ranked 14th. Tusculum College, which won the 2005 Food Lion SAC Tournament and finished 18th in last year’s final poll, is ranked 24th.

The 2006 season begins Thursday with six of the league’s teams in action.
