ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Bradley Brown was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while Thomas St. Clair of Lenoir-Rhyne was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Feb. 27-March 5, the League announced today.
Brown, a junior from Rockingham, N.C., posted six hits three home runs and 11 RBI to lead the Bulldogs to a 3-1 record last week, including a South Atlantic Conference series sweep over Anderson. In the Anderson series, Brown homered in three-straight games and finished the series with a pair of multiple-hit games. In game one of the double-header on March 4, he drove in six runs on three hits. He slugged 1.000 percent in the four-game span and finished the week with a .400 average at the plate. The honor marks his first Player of the Week nod this season.
St. Clair, a senior from Winston-Salem, N.C., threw his second-straight complete game win in a 6-2 victory over Catawba on March 4. He allowed just one earned run, while striking out 16 Catawba batters. St. Clair is 6-0 on the year and leads the nation with 62 strikeouts. The honor marks his third Pitcher of the Week honor this season.
