Emory & Henry Claims First SAC Men's Soccer Regular Season Title; Tournament Field Set

ROCK HILL, S.C. (theSAC.com) – For the first time in program history, the Emory & Henry Wasps have captured the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Regular Season Championship. The Wasps, who narrowly missed the crown in 2025, entered the final day of the regular season in second place. However, Emory & Henry defeated Tusculum 2-0 to leapfrog Catawba and claim the title.

The Wasps closed the regular season with eight consecutive victories and finished unbeaten in conference play. Emory & Henry posted an 8-0-2 SAC record, accumulating 26 points to secure the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.

Catawba narrowly missed the regular season title but earned the No. 2 seed in the SAC Tournament. The Catawba Indians fell to Coker 3-1 in their regular-season finale, suffering their first conference loss of the season. Catawba finished SAC play with an 8-1-1 record and 25 points.

Anderson, the defending SAC regular season champion, enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed. The Trojans were idle on the final day of the regular season and finished conference play with a 5-2-3 record and 18 points.
Carson-Newman secured the No. 4 seed and the final quarterfinal hosting spot following a 1-1 draw against Lincoln Memorial in its regular-season finale. The Eagles finished SAC play with a 5-3-2 record and 17 points.

Coker climbed to the No. 5 seed following its 3-1 upset victory over Catawba on the final day of the regular season. The Cobras finished conference play with a 5-4-1 record and 16 points.

The Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters earned the No. 6 seed after finishing SAC play with a 4-4-2 record and 14 points.

Mars Hill secured the No. 7 seed following an impressive 4-0 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne in its regular-season finale. The Lions finished conference play with a 4-5-1 record and 13 points.

Lenoir-Rhyne claimed the eighth and final tournament berth after finishing tied with Wingate at eight points. The two teams played to a draw in their head-to-head meeting, but the Bears earned the tiebreaker through the conference's record-against-higher-seeded-teams procedure, aided by their 2-0 victory over Anderson on October 10.

All tournament matches will be broadcast on FloSports. Quarterfinal contests will take place Saturday, October 31, at campus sites hosted by the higher seeds. The semifinals and championship will be held at the Sportsplex at Matthews in Matthews, N.C.
The semifinals are scheduled for Friday, November 6, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., with the championship match set for Sunday, November 8, at 1 p.m.
