ROCK HILL, S.C. -- The South Atlantic Conference Football
Players of the Week have been announced for the week ending October
24, 2010. Wingate University quarterback Cody Haffly was named
Offensive Player of the Week, while Catawba College corner back
Jumal Rolle was named Defensive Player of the Week, and
Lenoir-Rhyne University placekicker Colin Corpe was named Special
Teams Player of the Week.

SAC Offensive Player Of The Week
Cody Haffly, Wingate University
Jr., QB, Locust Grove, Ga. (Luella HS)
Wingate redshirt junior quarterback Cody Haffly completed
23-of-32 passes for 379 yards and a career-high (tying) five
touchdowns as Wingate rallied for a 44-37 South Atlantic Conference
road triumph versus Brevard Saturday. Haffly and the Bulldog
offense scored 35 second-half points to pick up the important
league victory. Wingate took a 44-30 lead on Haffly's 43-yard
touchdown pass to sophomore receiver Chris Bowden. He also had a
73-yard pass to Delric Ellington. For the 2010 season, Haffly is
169-of-271 for 2266 yards and 19 touchdowns.

SAC Defensive Player Of The Week
Jumal Rolle, Catawba College
So., CB, Wilson, NC (Beddingfield HS)
Jumal Rolle helped stop two Newberry drives in the red zone with
a forced fumble and an interception as Catawba rallied for a 28-25
win at Newberry. Down 17-7 in the second quarter, Rolle caused a
fumble at the Catawba eight to prevent the Wolves from increasing
their advantage and take a commanding lead. On the ensuing Catawba
possession, the Indians scored to cut the margin to 17-14 at the
half. Early in the fourth quarter, Rolle had an interception in the
end zone to end another Newberry threat and keep the Indians up
28-17. Rolle finised the day with four tackles, forced two fumbles
and had an intereception. Rolle leads Catawba with three
interceptions on the season.

SAC Special Teams Player Of The Week
Colin Corpe, Lenoir-Rhyne University
Jr., PK, Ocala, Fla. (Vanguard HS)
Junior placekicker Colin Corpe tied his own school record with
four field goals in Lenoir-Rhyne's 34-31 win over Tusculum in a
South Atlantic Conference game at home on Saturday. Corpe connected
on all four field goal attemps while his third attempt of 47 yards
was a personal high. Corpe, a 2008 First-Team All-South Atlantic
Conference honoree, finished with 14 points in the contest to move
into a first-place tie on L-R's all-time scoring list for kickers
with 167.
