SAC Nets Two in Men's Basketball National Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- The NABC and D2CSC released its national polls for week eight of the 2024-25 regular season and the South Atlantic Conference boasts two nationally ranked men's basketball teams.
Leading the SAC teams in the rankings are the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters who move up to No. 11 in both polls. The Railsplitters were No. 16 in the D2CSC poll last week and No. 14 in the NABC poll but wins over Carson-Newman on the road and Coker at home pushed LMU up the rankings. The Railsplitters sit at 11-2 overall and 9-1 in SAC play which tops the league standings.
Lenoir-Rhyne suffered a tough road loss to UVA Wise in overtime on Sunday to drop to 12-3 (9-2) but did beat Mars Hill by 11 on the road earlier in the week. The Bears fell to No. 24 in each poll.
Coker suffered a pair of losses to fall out of the top 25 after being ranked last week.
