21 SAC Student-Athletes Qualify to Compete in NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference will be represented by 21 student-athletes from five member institutions at the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 21-23 in Emporia, Kan.
South Atlantic Conference member schools represented at the national championship meet include Wingate University, Carson-Newman University, Catawba College and Lenoir-Rhyne University.
Wingate leads the SAC with 11 national qualifiers and 13 individual event selections, highlighted by distance standouts David Holman, Luca Poppe, Joaquin Campos and Klaus Scholz. The Bulldogs will compete in the 800-meter run, 1,500-meter run, 5,000-meter run, 10,000-meter run, steeplechase and triple jump.
Carson-Newman qualified four student-athletes and its 4x100-meter relay team for the national championships. Rylan Jordan and Amine Kasmi each earned selections in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes while also helping the Eagles qualify in the relay.
Catawba will send four student-athletes to Emporia, including Victor Smith in the 100-meter dash, Miles Stephens in the 200-meter dash, Seth Caudill in the 1,500-meter run and Jayden Bennermon in the triple jump.
Lenoir-Rhyne will be represented by Tobechukwu Nwokocha in the long jump and Havyn Spain in the 200-meter dash.
The NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships begin Thursday, May 21, and conclude Saturday, May 23, at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.
