Carson-Newman and Wingate Softball Teams Nationally Ranked in NFCA Division II Top-25 Coaches Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced their 2019 week four poll on Wednesday, March 13. Carson-Newman remained No. 7, while Wingate moved up into a tie at No. 20

The Eagles (13-0, 0-0 SAC) were idle on the week but are the only undefeated team on the poll and in the conference. Carson-Newman leads the SAC in slugging percentage (.590), least strikeouts (46), and in a tie for shutouts (5).

The Bulldogs (17-7, 0-0 SAC) rebounded after a five-game skid to two nationally-ranked opponents with a 15-5 win over Limestone. Wingate leads the conference with 19 sacrifice hits, tied first in shutouts with five, and at bats (624).

The 2019 NFCA Division II Top-25 Coaches Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the NCAA's eight regions.
