Mars Hill Names Jennifer Nance As Senior Woman Administrator
MARS HILL, N.C. - Jennifer Nance has been named the Senior Women's Administrator for the Athletic Department at Mars Hill College institution officials announced today. Nance is currently the head women's basketball coach for the Lions.
The designation of SWA is intended to encourage and promote the involvement of female administrators in meaningful ways in the decision-making process in intercollegiate athletics. The designation is intended to enhance representation of female experience and perspective at the institutional, conference and national levels and support women's interests.
Mars Hill Athletic Director David Riggins said, "Jennifer Nance
has been an integral part of the MHC administrative team already
especially as the advisor to our Student-Athlete Advisory Council
(SAAC). This appointment will give us the opportunity to better use
her skills. I am especially excited about Jennifer's ideas
regarding our life skills program. She will be a great advocate for
all of Mars Hill's student-athletes."
Jennifer Nance is beginning her fourth season as the head women's basketball coach at Mars Hill College. She stated, "I'm excited and grateful for the new opportunity that David Riggins has given me. This will be a new challenge in my career and I look forward to learning more about the administrative side of athletics. There are a lot of positive changes happening at Mars Hill and I'm happy to be a part of them."
Mars Hill College is a NCAA Division II institution and a member of the South Atlantic Conference. The league is comprised of schools in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
