Six SAC Volleyball Players Named to D2CCA All-Region Teams

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) unveiled its 2022 Southeast Region Volleyball All-Region Teams Thursday morning (Nov. 17). Wingate University setter Shannon Kasprak has been named the D2CCA Southeast Region Player of the Year, while six South Atlantic Conference volleyball players were named to the first and second teams. 

 Kasprak was named the 2022 SAC Player of the Year, while also earning SAC Tournament MVP honors, leading the Bulldogs to a pair of conference titles and the number one seed in the NCAA Southeast Regional. Kasprak runs a Wingate offense that leads the region and ranks in the top 15 nationally in hitting percentage, kills per set and assists per set. She averages 10.44 assists, 3.30 digs, 1.39 kills and 0.69 blocks per set.

Carson-Newman's Julia Wheeler leads the way as a first team All-Region outside hitter. The first team All-SAC selection leads the region and ranks 10th in the nation with 4.47 kills per set. Compiling 144 more kills than any other player in the SAC. She is adding 2.80 digs per set while hitting .239 on the year to go along with 40 blocks and 29 aces.

Wingate's Emily Johnson leads the way as a first team All-Region middle blocker. The first team All-SAC honoree leads the SAC with 1.14 blocks per set, ranking second with a .375 hitting percentage while producing 2.19 kills per set, adding 56 digs and 24 aces. Anderson's Noelle Knutsen is also a first team All-Region selection. She leads the SAC with a .382 hitting percentage, ranking fourth with 3.18 kills and 1.02 blocks per set.

 Wingate's Molly Lambillotte is a second team selection. The first team All-SAC outside hitter averages 2.70 kills and 2.70 digs per set and is the only left-side hitter in the region hitting over .300. Mars Hill's Sarah Goddard rounds out the All-Region outside hitters. The first team All-SAC selection ranks second in the SAC with 3.63 kills per set, adding 3.02 digs and 0.57 blocks per set, hitting .221 on the season.
