The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Brevard forward Sergi Monso has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for games played the first week of the season, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Brevard forward Sergi Monso has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for games played the first week of the season, the League announced today.
Monso, a freshman from Barcelona, Spain, notched two goals and an assist to lead the Tornados to a pair of wins last week. Against North Greenville on Sept. 4, he got the Tornados on the board in the 9th minute as he headed in a cross from teammate Robert Ferrer. In the 31st minute, Monso found the foot of Ferrer to give Brevard the 2-0 win. Two days later against Belmont Abbey, Monso kicked in the game-winner in the 73rd minute to give the Blue and White the 2-1 win. The honor marks his first AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week plaudit this season.
