The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Nov. 16

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba guard Bri Johnson has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 9 – 15, the League announced today.

 

Johnson, a junior from Statesville, N.C., posted over 20 points in both of Catawba's wins on opening weekend, including a 28-point performance in a 76-67 win against Mount Olive. In that victory, Johnson was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line and added nine rebounds and three steals.  Against Barton, the junior notched 24 points, shooting 8-of-12 from the floor and chipped in seven rebounds in the Indians' 86-78 victory. Johnson accumulated 52 points on the week, went a total of 14-of-15 at the line and pulled down 16 rebounds. The award marks her first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
