The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, Feb. 2

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson's Rebecca Bruning has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for games matches the opening weekend of the season, the League announced today.

 

Bruning, a sophomore from Athens, Ga., posted a 2-0 record to pace the Trojans to a 9-0 win over Southern Wesleyan on Jan. 31.  She got her season started with a win as Bruning and teammate Mairead Cleary knocked off Samantha Powell and Elizabeth Mulkey, 8-1, at the No. 1 doubles flight.  The No. 1 singles player for the Trojans followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Powell in singles action.  The honor is her first Player of the Week selection this season.
