The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, Feb. 29

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Carlotta Nassi has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Feb. 22-28, the League announced today.

Nassi, a sophomore from Livorno, Italy, went undefeated for the Royals at No.1 singles and doubles last week to lead the Royals to a pair of SAC wins.  Against Lenoir-Rhyne, Nassi won in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 before teaming with Melissa Laing to pick up an 8-5 doubles win.  In the match vs. Anderson, she and Laing upset the No. 22 ranked doubles team of Ivey Welborn and Rebecca Bruning with an 8-3 win.  She followed with a 6-0, 6-2 singles win at the top flight vs. the Trojans.  The award is her first Player of the Week selection this season.
