The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week, March 21

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Carson-Sterling was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Ryan Crompton was named the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played March 14-20, the League announced today.

Sterling, a senior from Durham, N.C., scored five goals and dished out three assists to lead the Bears to a 2-0 record in South Atlantic Conference play last week.  The midfielder got his week started with five goals and one assist in the Bears' 17-6 win over Wingate on March 16.  Three days later at Tusculum, Sterling assisted on a pair of goals as Lenoir-Rhyne defeated Tusculum, 8-7.  He also collected three ground balls in the two-game span.  The honor is his first Offensive Player of the Week selection this season.

Crompton, a sophomore from Frederick, Md., posted 22 saves and a 64.7 save percentage in the Bears' two wins last week.  Against Wingate, he turned away 13 shots to finish the contest with a 72.2 save percentage.  In the contest vs. Tusculum, Crompton saved 56 percent of the shots he faced as he finished with nine saves in the win. The award is his first Defensive Player of the Week plaudit this season.
