The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week, Sept. 22
Lenoir-Rhyne midfielder Ben Jones has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sept. 15-21
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne midfielder Ben Jones has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sept. 15-21, the League announced today.
Jones, a senior from Dagenham, England, scored a pair of goals for the Bears last week, including the game-winner vs. Conference foe Wingate on Sept. 20. His goal against the Bulldogs came in the 14th minute as he took a DeJean Charlton assist and blasted a shot into the top right corner from right outside the box. The Bears would go on to win, 3-0. Against Barton College on Sept. 17, Jones found the back of the net in the 34th minute in the 3-2 2OT loss to the No. 5 team in the NSCAA Southeast Region.
Also nominated for Men's Soccer Player of the Week: Bo Haug (Anderson), Andrew Gallowitch (Brevard), Sindre Welo (Carson-Newman) and Cody Foreman (Mars Hill).
