The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week, Oct. 6
Wingate forward Brooke Howell has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sept. 29-Oct. 5, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate forward Brooke Howell has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sept. 29-Oct. 5, the League announced today.
Howell, a sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., notched four goals in a pair of games to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record last week. She got her week started with two goals as Wingate defeated Mount Olive, 7-0. On Oct. 4 vs. League foe Mars Hill, Howell scored in the 16th minute and found the back of the net in the 53rd minute to lift Wingate to the 4-0 win. The two wins last week extended the Bulldogs' winning streak to four-straight games. The honor is her first Player of the Week selection this season.
Also nominated for Women's Soccer Player of the Week: Faith Johannes (Anderson), Garcelle Alequine (Lenoir-Rhyne), Michelle Hunter (Lincoln Memorial), Gabrielle Brodie (Newberry), Tori Danchak (Queens) and Taylor Lewis (Tusculum).
