The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Dec. 7

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Newberry guard-forward Samantha Creed has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 30 – Dec. 6, the League announced today.

Creed, a senior from Montmorency, Australia, scored all of her 19 points in the second half in the Wolves' only game of the week at No. 21 Carson-Newman. The Preseason All-American led Newberry back from a 16 point deficit to claim a 73-69 win over the Eagles. Creed collected three defensive rebounds and two steals in 22 minutes of play and was perfect from the three-point line as she made all three of her attempts. At the free throw line, she shot 6-for-8 and made 62. 5 percent of her field goals. The award marks her first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
