The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week
Carson-Newman third baseman Brett Langhorne has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Player of the Week and Anderson right-hander Will Gee has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Feb. 1-Feb. 4, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman third baseman Brett Langhorne has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Player of the Week and Anderson right-hander Will Gee has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Feb. 1-Feb. 4, the League announced today.
Langhorne, a senior from Mechanicsville, Va., had a fantastic week at the plate to start the 2018 season. He posted a .500 batting average going 8-for-16 with a double, two home runs, seven RBIs and seven runs scored. He also swiped four bags, had an on-base percentage of .550 and had a slugging percentage of .938.
Gee, a junior from Blacksville, S.C., tossed a gem in his first appearance of the season. He earned the win on the mound as he led the Trojans to a 2-0 win over King. He went seven innings allowing just three hits and no runs with eight strikeouts and just one walk.
These are the first Player of the Week selections for both Langhorne and Gee this season.
