The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week
Lincoln Memorial infielder Tyler Adams has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Player of the Week and Wingate right-hander Nick Stegman has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Feb. 5-11, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lincoln Memorial infielder Tyler Adams has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Player of the Week and Wingate right-hander Nick Stegman has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Feb. 5-11, the League announced today.
Adams, a sophomore from Woodstock, Ga., had an outstanding week at the plate, leading the Railsplitters to a 3-0 record. He had a .600 batting average with six hits, including two doubles with five RBIs and two stolen bases. He also had a slugging percentage of .800 and an on-base percentage of .692 for the week.
Stegman, a junior from Frederick, Md., had a masterful debut on the mound for the Bulldogs as he led Wingate to a 7-2 win over Erskine. He took a perfect game into the sixth inning, retiring the first 16 hitters he faced. He finished the game allowing just one hit with no walks and no runs, while striking out four in six innings of work.
These are the first Player of the Week selections for both Adams and Stegman this season.
