The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum's Daulton Martin was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Player of the Week, while Catawba's Greg Brown was named AstroTurf Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during the final week of the 2021 regular season, the Conference office announced today.

Martin, an infielder from Lancaster, Pa., led the Pioneers to a 6-0 SAC record last week, batting .393 with 11 hits, including five home runs and a triple. He drove in 17 runs, scored 11 runs, with a .500 on-base percentage and a 1.00 slugging percentage. Included in his outstanding week were two standout performances against Limestone, his first a 4-for-4 outing where he belted two homers, with a triple and nine RBIs, and his second a 3-for-5 performance where he smashed two more homers with five RBIs.

Brown, a junior right-hander from Lexington, N.C., threw a complete game shutout in a 5-0 victory versus Anderson last week. He went the distance on the mound allowing just three hits with no runs and 14 strikeouts.  

This is Martin's first Player of the Week honor this season, while this marks the first Pitcher of the Week honor for Brown.
