Anderson's Harrison Named NCBWA Southeast Regional Player of the Week

Salisbury, N.C. ---- Anderson outfielder Braeden Harrison and Georgia Southwestern right-handed pitcher Evan Koehler were named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Southeast Region Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for Week Two, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
Harrison, a redshirt junior outfielder from Spartanburg, S.C., helped the Trojans to a 6-0 start by going 13-of-19 at the plate and hitting .684 with a .759 on base percentage. In the six wins, he scored nine runs, hit two home runs and drove in a staggering 17 runs. He walked six times and stole a pair of bases. He had four multi-hit games, including three with 3+ hits.
Koehler, a senior right-handed pitcher from Orange City, Fla., held No. 5 ranked North Greenville to one run over eight innings. Strunk out 11 while allowing just one walk, retiring the side in order three times and striking out the side in the fourth inning. He currently leads the Peach Belt Conference in ERA (0.60), innings pitched (15) and strikeouts (21) and ranks second in opposing batting average (.157)
Harrison and Koehler will advance to NCBWA National Player and Pitcher of the Week consideration, which is released on Thursday.
