South Atlantic Conference Represented on Preseason All-American Football Team
CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College's Quasi Gary has been named to the 2005 Don Hansen's Football Gazette Preseason All-American Team.
Gary, a 6-0, 181-pound senior safety from Kingstree, S.C., finished second on the team in total stops (86) and interceptions (5) while tallying 11 pass defenses, two recovered fumbles, one sack, and one forced fumble in 2004. He finished ninth in the South Atlantic Conference in tackles per game (7.8), fourth in interceptions per game (0.45), and eighth in pass defenses. For his efforts, Gary earned first team All-SAC and All-Southeast Region honors and was selected special mention All-American by CollegeSportsReport.com and honorable mention All-American by Don Hansen's Football Gazette.
Gary was one of six players from the South Atlantic Conference to earn preseason All-American honors from Don Hansen's Football Gazette. The Blue Hose compiled a 6-5 overall record in 2004 including a 4-3 mark in the South Atlantic Conference regular season, good for a four-way tie for second place. PC is picked to finish fifth in the 2005 SAC preseason coaches and media polls.
Gary and the rest of the Blue Hose now continue preseason practice. PC will open the 2005 season at home on Saturday, August 27 at 1:30 pm with a match-up with the University of West Georgia.

Pittsburg, Kan. - Two members of the Lenoir-Rhyne College Football Team, senior linebacker Tim Clarke and sophomore placekicker Andrew Coln, were both named to the 2005 Don Hansen's Football Gazette Preseason Division II All-American Team.
Clarke, a native of Durham, North Carolina, and a graduate of Northern Durham High School, led the South Atlantic Conference last year with 125 tackles en route to league defensive player-of-the-year honors, the first Bear to win the award in 21 years. PITTSBURG, KAN. - Newberry College wide receiver Tymere Zimmerman (Bennettsville, S.C.) has been named to the Don Hansen Football Gazette Preseason All-America Team. Zimmerman is one of six South Atlantic Conference players on the list, and the only representative on the offensive side of the ball.

His 977 yards and 73 receptions were second most in the SAC last season, and his 10 receiving touchdowns were just two short of the leader. Zimmerman was a first team All-SAC receiver last season and Don Hansen All-Southeast Region second team member.
Fans and media will have a chance to meet Zimmerman and his
teammates Sunday, August 21 at 1 p.m. during Newberry College's
media day and fan appreciation day.
