Tusculum’s Cordell and Archie, Newberry’s Clark Named SAC Football Players of the Week
Tusculum’s Bo Cordell and LiRonta Archie and Newberry’s Kyle Clark have been voted as the SAC Football Players of the Week after leading their teams to conference victories on Saturday, it was announced on Monday.

SAC Offensive Player of the Week | Bo Cordell, Tusculum QB
Cordell went 28-of-43 for 424 yards on Saturday in Tusculum's 43-25 victory over Catawba, marking his 15th-career 400-yard performance. Cordell also threw three touchdowns, becoming just the second player in SAC history and 20th in Division II history to reach 100 career touchdown passes.
The graduate student completed passes to eight different receives, and his touchdown throws went for 11, 18 and 24 yards.
Cordell currently leads the SAC with 1,834 passing yards and 13 touchdowns this season. He needs 554 yards to break Division II's all-time passing yards record of 14,733 yards.
SAC Defensive Player of the Week | LiRonta Archie, Tusculum DB
Archie was dominant on defense for Tusculum against Catawba, recording nine tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery. His two interceptions tied a TC single-game record, and the fumble recovery marked the sixth of his career, which are the second-most in program history.
Archie's two interceptions this season are tied for the conference lead, while his two fumble recoveries are tied for second.
SAC Special Teams Player of the Week | Kyle Clark, Newberry PK/P
Clark wins the distinction for the third-consecutive week after connecting on all six extra points and averaging 47.5 yards per punt in Newberry's 42-28 win at Wingate.
The sophomore punted four times in the game – including boots of 57 and 54 yards - placing three inside the 20. Wingate was able to return only one of the punts for minus-3 yards.
Clark's season average 40 yards per punt is currently tied for the league lead, and his six punts inside the 20 are tied for second.
