Lenoir-Rhyne, Newberry, Carson-Newman Remain Ranked in NCAA Football Regional Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – Lenoir-Rhyne remains the No. 1 team in this week's NCAA Football Super Region II rankings, while Carson-Newman is No. 4 and Newberry is No. 5.
Monday marked the final regional rankings release prior to NCAA Division II Football Championship selections. The championship bracket will be announced on a live NCAA.com selection show on Sunday at 5 p.m.
Lenoir-Rhyne stayed at No. 1 for the third-straight week after a 62-24 non-conference win over Alderson-Broaddus on Saturday. The Bears, who are 9-1 overall and 6-0 in the SAC, have clinched their third-straight conference title.
Carson-Newman and Newberry faced off on Saturday in a top-25 showdown, with the Eagles earning a 52-31 victory. The outcome vaulted C-N up four spots in the regional rankings from last week, while Newberry fell from No. 2.
Both teams are 8-2 overall, while Newberry is 5-2 and Carson-Newman 4-2 in SAC play.
In addition to the regional rankings, Lenoir-Rhyne was ranked 14th and Carson-Newman 21st in Monday's AFCA national poll release.
