The South Atlantic Conference Posts Two Football Teams in the NCAA Regional Rankings

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted two teams in the NCAA Regional Football Rankings, the NCAA announced recently. Lenoir-Rhyne came in at No. 1 in the Super Region Two, while Carson-Newman is currently eighth.
The Bears are ranked No. 3 in the nation by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and sport a record of 9-0. Lenior-Rhyne is No. 1 in the nation with 411 rushing yards per game. The Bears' defense is ranked No. 16 in Division II as it is holding opponents to just 299 yards per game.
Carson-Newman is ranked No. 24 by the AFCA and is 6-2 on the season. Offensively, the Eagles are averaging 504 yards of total offense per game to rank No. 10 in the country, while its 41 points per game is good for No. 15 nationally.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Football Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
