The South Atlantic Conference Posts Two Football Teams in the NCAA Regional Rankings
Lenoir-Rhyne came in at No. 1 in the Super Region Two, while Carson-Newman is currently ninth
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted two teams in the NCAA Regional Football Rankings, the NCAA announced today. Lenoir-Rhyne came in at No. 1 in the Super Region Two, while Carson-Newman is currently ninth.
The Bears are ranked No. 3 in the nation by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and sport a record of 10-0. Lenior-Rhyne earned the 2014 South Atlantic Conference Football Championship on Nov. 8.
Carson-Newman is 6-3 on the season and will finish up its Conference season on Nov. 15.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Football Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
