The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Football Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Football Players of the Week for games played during week three of the 2023 season.  Barton running back Jordan Terrell was tabbed as the Offensive Player of the Week, while Tusculum defensive lineman Dajavon White was named the Defensive Player of the Week, and Lenoir-Rhyne return man DeAree Rogers picked up Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Terrell, a junior from Ramseur, N.C., led the Bulldogs to a 28-24 win over UVA Wise last week. He rushed for 256 yards and two touchdowns, including a 63-yard game-winning run late in the fourth quarter. Terrell averaged 9.8 yards per carry in the game and currently leads NCAA Division II in rushing yards per game at 194 per game. 

White, a junior from Cocoa, Fla., recorded six tackles and two sacks, including a sack that resulted in a safety in the Pioneers' 23-21 win over No. 24 Wingate. White's safety proved to be the game-winner, giving Tusculum its first road win at Wingate since 2014. White also accounted for a quarterback hurry and two tackles for loss in the win.

Rogers, a freshman from Lexington, S.C., broke two program records in the Bears' 62-0 win over Erskine, while tying another record. Rogers returned two punts for touchdowns, tying the record for most punt returns for touchdowns in a single game. He broke the record for most punt return yards in a single game with 170 and he broke the record for most punt returns for touchdowns in a single season, having returned three punts for touchdowns in his first three games of the season. Rogers averaged 34 yards per return in the win.
