Lenoir-Rhyne and Carson-Newman Ranked in National Football Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- Lenoir-Rhyne moved up in the top 25 and Carson-Newman entered the top 25 in this week's national football polls. The Bears are No. 17 in the D2Football poll and No. 21 in the AFCA poll while Carson-Newman is No. 23 according to the AFCA. 

The Bears jumped up a few spots in each poll with a 28-7 victory over Tusculum on Saturday that earned QB Khamoni Robinson the SAC Offensive Player of the Week award. Robinson threw for four touchdowns and 280 yards in the victory. LR had been No. 20 in the D2Football poll and No. 24 according to the AFCA.

Carson-Newman cracks the top 25 for the first time this season with a 59-0 thumping of SC Central Christian to move to 2-0 on the season. The Eagles moved from unranked to No. 23 in the AFCA national poll and are still in the receiving votes category in the D2Football poll.

Each team faces tough tests this week as LR hosts Emory & Henry while Carson-Newman travels to Mars Hill.
