Newberry Football Finishes in Top Five of Both National Polls

ROCK HILL, S.C. (theSAC.com) – The final Division II football national rankings have been released and Newberry finished fourth in the AFCA Coaches' Poll and fifth in the D2Football.com poll.

The Wolves finished the season with a 12-2 record and won the first Regional Championship in program history. Newberry came off a 3-8 record in 2025 and the nine-win jump earned head coach Todd Knight the D2Football National Coach of the Year honor.

Wingate finished in the receiving votes category of the AFCA poll, earning 28 points to narrowly miss the top 25 by two spots.
