Lenoir-Rhyne’s Dillingham, Anderson’s Diaz Earn SAC Basketball Player of the Week Honors
Lenoir-Rhyne guard Denzel Dillingham and Anderson guard Alissa Diaz have been selected as the SAC Basketball Players of the Week for games played Jan. 30 through Feb. 2, the league office announced Monday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne guard Denzel Dillingham and Anderson guard Alissa Diaz have been selected as the SAC Basketball Players of the Week for games played Jan. 30 through Feb. 2, the league office announced Monday.
Dillingham led the Lenoir-Rhyne men to a pair of victories last week, putting the Bearsjust one game back of the top spot in the SAC standings. The sophomore averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists in wins over Anderson and Newberry.
On Wednesday against Anderson, Dillingham scored a game-high 30 – including six three-pointers – and added eight rebounds as L-R won convincingly, 75-58. He followed that performance with 19 points and six boards on Saturday in a 91-79 win over Newberry.
Dillingham made 9-of-18 threes and 10-of-11 free throws on the week. He is now third in the conference in scoring at 17.9 points per game.

Diaz, meanwhile, kept the Anderson women atop the conference standings by averaging 22 points and 10 rebounds in wins over Lenoir-Rhyne and Mars Hill.
The senior opened the week by recording a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds in AU's 48-46 Wednesday win at Lenoir-Rhyne. She then went for 27 points and nine rebounds on Saturday as the Trojans beat Mars Hill, 76-68.
Diaz's big week moved her into ninth on Anderson's all-time scoring list with 1,130 career points. She also added seven assists and two blocks on the week.
Diaz is the SAC's second-leading scorer this season at 17.6 points per game.
