Anderson’s Hash, Lenoir-Rhyne’s Charles Named Season’s First SAC Basketball Players of the Week
Anderson guard Chandler Hash and Lenoir-Rhyne guard Jazmine Charles have been selected as the SAC Basketball Players of the Week following the season’s opening slate of games last weekend, it was announced on Tuesday.

SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week | Chandler Hash, Anderson
Hash had a huge weekend as Anderson won games over Lander and GRU Augusta, averaging 30 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
Hash opened his season with 18 points and six assists on Saturday in a 61-60 Trojan win over Lander. The preseason All-SAC selection then scored a career-high 42 points – sixth most in conference history – on 10-of-19 shooting as AU beat GRU Augusta, 91-86.
The senior also made 17-of-18 free throws against Augusta, tying for the fifth-most in a single game in SAC history. He averaged 17.9 points per game last season.
SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week | Jazmine Charles, Lenoir-Rhyne
Charles averaged 19 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 assists over the weekend as Lenoir-Rhyne got off to a 2-0 start with wins over Barton and Lees-McRae.
On Saturday, Charles – a preseason All-SAC pick - finished with 13 points, five rebounds and two assists in an 87-69 L-R win over Barton. She followed that with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds to go along with three assists in the Bears' 75-63 victory against Lees-McRae.
Charles shot 44.4-percent from the field and 91.7-percent from the foul line in the two games. She led Lenoir-Rhyne in scoring in 2012-13 at 11.3 points per game.
