LMU’s Choice, Queens’ Pettaway Earn SAC Basketball Weekly Awards

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lincoln Memorial guard Luquon Choice and Queens forward Shonice Pettaway both put up big scoring numbers in conference victories over the weekend, and on Monday were selected as the SAC Basketball Players of the Week.

Choice scored a career-best 34 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds on Sunday as LMU ran past Newberry, 102-87, in a conference showdown. The freshman finished 13-of-22 from the field, including 8-of-12 from long range. His eight three-pointers fell one shy of the Railsplitters' single-game record.
Choice currently ranks second in the SAC in three-point accuracy at 52.3-percent, and is averaging 10.9 points per game.
SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week | Shonice Pettaway, queens
Pettaway was dominant on Saturday in Queens' 67-66 victory at Brevard, finishing with 26 points – including a game-winning three-pointer as time expired. She also added nine rebounds, three assists and three steals in the contest.
The performance marked Pettaway's second 25-plus point game of the season. She is seventh in the conference in scoring at 14.9 points per game.
