LMU's Jones, Mars Hill's Ricker Earn SAC Basketball Weekly Awards

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lincoln Memorial guard Chance Jones and Mars Hill guard Ansley Ricker had a pair of high-scoring games for their teams, and on Monday were named the SAC Basketball Players of the Week.
SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week | Chance Jones, Lincoln Memorial
Jones averaged 27 points, seven rebounds and two assists last week, leading Lincoln Memorial to a pair of victories that extended the Railsplitters' winning streak to 11-straight games.
Jones opened the week by scoring a career-high 30 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor and 5-of-7 shooting from the foul line in an 88-60 LMU win over Mars Hill on Wednesday. He also pulled down nine rebounds in the game, just missing a double-double.
Jones followed that by going for 24 points, five rebounds and three assists on Saturday as LMU won at Catawba, 111-90. It was another highly-efficient performance for the senior, who finished 9-of-13 from the field.
On the season, Jones is averaging 14.1 points per game and ranks fifth in the SAC in three-point shooting at 45.8-percent.
SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week | Ansley Ricker, Mars Hill
Ricker had a huge week for Mars Hill, averaging 30 points – including a career-high 37 on Saturday in a loss at Lenoir-Rhyne.
Ricker shot 12-of-22 from the floor and a perfect 10-of-10 from the foul line against Lenoir-Rhyne, finishing five points shy of the Mars Hill single-game record. She also had six rebounds and three assists in the contest.
Earlier in the week, Ricker had 23 points in a 69-66 victory at Lincoln Memorial. The junior sank a pair of free-throws in the game's final minute to secure the MHU win.
Ricker now ranks second in the conference in scoring at 18 points per game.
