SAC Basketball Weekly Awards go to Brevard’s Pickett, Lenoir-Rhyne’s Gust
Brevard senior Dominique Pickett and Lenoir-Rhyne junior Jenni Gust have been selected as the SAC Basketball Players of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday. This week’s awards were pushed back a day to account for Monday’s weather-rescheduled games.

SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week | Dominique Pickett, Brevard
Pickett averaged 28 points, 4.5 assists and three rebounds as Brevard split games with Coker and Carson-Newman.
Pickett opened his week by scoring 27 points on 8-of-14 shooting on Saturday in an 88-84 BC win over Coker. The guard also had a game-high seven assists in the contest. He then went for 29 points on Monday in an 89-67 loss against Carson-Newman – a performance that included eight three-pointers.
On the season, Pickett is averaging 15.5 points per game, and his 56 made threes rank ninth in the SAC.
SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week | Jenni Gust, Lenoir-Rhyne
Gust led Lenoir-Rhyne to a pair of victories over LMU and Newberry, keeping the Bears tied atop the SAC standings and extending their winning streak to eight-straight.
Gust averaged 15.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in the two games, finishing with 18 points and seven rebounds on Saturday in a 63-55 Lenoir-Rhyne win over LMU, and then 13 points and six boards on Monday in a 75-62 victory over Newberry.
The guard's current field-goal percentage of 46.0 ranks seventh in the conference.
