Carson-Newman’s Davis, Newberry’s Lepaio Named SAC Basketball Players of the Week
As the SAC basketball regular season reaches its final week, Carson-Newman forward Antoine Davis and Newberry forward Haylee Lepaio have been named the conference’s weekly award winners, it was announced on Monday.

SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week | Antoine Davis, Carson-Newman
Davis averaged 26 points, 8.5 rebounds and six assists last week as Carson-Newman picked up wins over Anderson and Queens, securing a top-four seed in the upcoming SAC Basketball Championship.
The defending SAC Player of the Year started his week with 29 points, eight rebounds and six assists on Wednesday as Carson-Newman won a showdown with Anderson, 87-79. He then went for 23 points, nine boards and six assists on Saturday as the Eagles handled Queens, 90-75.
Davis shot 59.4-percent from the field and 90-percent from the foul line in the two games. He currently ranks third in the SAC in scoring at 20.4 points per game.
SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week | Haylee Lepaio, Newberry
Lepaio led Newberry against Queens and Mars Hill last week, averaging a double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds as the Wolves went 1-1.
Lepaio was a monster on Wednesday in a 75-63 Newberry win over Queens, finishing with 40 points and 14 rebounds – marking only the seventh 40-point performance in SAC history. She followed that with another double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds in a 65-56 Wolves loss on Saturday at Mars Hill.
The junior also added three assists and a block while shooting 56.8-percent from the field last week. She leads the conference in scoring at 19 points per game and ranks second in rebounding at 9.9 per contest.
