Carson-Newman's Brenegan Named South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman guard Nick Brenegan has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week seven of the 2023-24 season, the Conference announced today.

Brenegan, a junior from Greenville, S.C., led the Eagles to a 2-0 record with wins over Tennessee Wesleyan (107-83) and Belmont Abbey (98-87). Brenegan set a new Eagle men's basketball record for three-pointers in a game with 12 against Tennessee Wesleyan, scoring 37 points in the game with two rebounds, seven assists, and a steal. He then added 11 points, a rebound, and three assists against Belmont Abbey. He averaged 24 points, shooting 51.7 percent from the field with three total rebounds and 10 total assists.
