Four SAC Schools Under Consideration in First NCAA Men's Basketball Southeast Region Ranking
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference had four schools ranked in the first NCAA Southeast Region Men's Basketball poll, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Feb. 21). Carson-Newman, Catawba, Lincoln Memorial, and Wingate are all under consideration for this year's NCAA Southeast Region Championship.
In addition to the three SAC schools ranked in this week's poll, there are two Conference Carolinas schools under consideration and four Peach Belt schools.
The ten teams currently under consideration were not put in any rank order at this time. The teams will not be put in rank order until next week's ranking
Carson-Newman has a 17-6 record, Catawba is 15-5, Lincoln Memorial is 18-6, and Wingate is 19-6.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
