Five SAC Men's Basketball Players Named to D2CCA Southeast Region Men's Basketball Teams
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) unveiled Emmanuel senior guard KJ Jones II as its 2023-24 Southeast Region Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Jones' honor highlights the D2 CCA Southeast Region Men's Basketball All-Region Teams.
Jones currently leads NCAA Division II in points per game (26.4), total points (818) and free throws made (292). The senior from Atlanta, Georgia is shooting 47.2 percent (233-of-494) from the field and he leads Conference Carolinas in free throw percentage (.888). He is also second in Conference Carolinas in assists (126) and he is third in the league in assists per game (4.1 per game).
Jones is joined on the first team by Donell Nixon of Wingate, Tyler Johnson and Tehree Horn of USC Aiken and Martez Brown of Lincoln Memorial.
The second team features John Zhao of Carson-Newman, Andre Leavell of Coker, Daylan Askew of Chowan, Uzziah Dawkins of Converse, Frank Champion of North Georgia and Josh Massey of Wingate.
Athletic communication professionals from NCAA Division II Southeast Region schools and conferences selected the D2 CCA all-region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced later in the month.
The NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners sponsor the All-Region teams.
