Carson-Newman's Brenegan Named SAC WePlayed Sports Men's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman guard Nick Brenegan has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week two of the 2024-25 season, the Conference announced today.
Brenegan, a senior from Greenville, S.C., became the 41st player in Carson-Newman history to surpass 1,000 career points. He also moved into sixth place in program history in all-time 3-pointers made, just one away from being in the top five in history. In wins over Johnson & Wales and Lenoir-Rhyne, Brenegan averaged 21 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 68 percent from the field and 58 percent from three. He poured in 29 points and was 10-of-14 from the floor in a win over Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday. He is the second straight player from C-N to earn the honor.
