Browder Selected as NABC Division II National Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman guard Jack Browder has been named the NABC Division II National Men's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the organization today.
Browder, a junior from Kingsport, Tenn., did something that not even the SAC's all-time leading scorer Charles Clark ever did. Browder scored 30 points in three straight games, with two coming last week. He had a career-high 36 points and 16 rebounds against UVA Wise. The 16 boards are tied for the seventh-most in a single game in program history and the third-most of the DII era for the Eagles. He followed that up with 30 points on 9-of-10 shooting against Limestone and six rebounds. For the week, he shot 75 percent from the field, 88.9 percent from the 3-point line and averaged 33 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks per game. This is the second week in a row and the third week this season that Browder has won the award.
