Wingate's Taylor Named SAC WePlayed Sports Men's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate guard Kendall Taylor has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week 16 of the 2024-25 season, the Conference announced today.

Taylor, a senior from Sacramento, Calif., wrapped up his regular season with two more 30-point double-doubles to lead Wingate to a pair of much-needed victories. Taylor averaged 32 points, 12 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game in the two wins, adding 3 steals and 2 blocks while shooting 66 percent from the field and going 14-15 at the line. He started his week with 33 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists a block and a steal in the 87-85 win over Coker, going 13-17 from the field and 6-6 at the line. Taylor just missed his second triple-double of the year Saturday, going for 33 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists on 10-18 shooting from the field and 8-9 at the line adding 2 steals and a block. His step back three with 4 seconds left gave the 'Dogs the three-point victory.
