Six SAC Men's Basketball Teams Ranked in Final Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (theSAC.com) – In the final regional rankings before Selection Sunday, the South Atlantic Conference boasts six men's basketball teams in the top 10. Eight teams in the Southeast Region will advance to NCAA play.
Lincoln Memorial slots in at No. 2 in the region and boasts a 23-4 overall record. LMU took down Wingate in the SAC Tournament Quarterfinals and has advanced to tomorrow's semifinal round. They won the SAC Regular Season title for the sixth straight season and 13th time in program history.
Lenoir-Rhyne enters at No. 4 in the regional rankings. LR is 22-5 on the season and survived an upset bid from Anderson to win 73-71 in overtime in the SAC Quarterfinals. The Bears are looking for their first NCAA appearance since 2019.
The SAC owns spots 7-10 in the regional rankings. Carson-Newman is No. 7 at 19-10 and Coker comes in at No. 8 and is 19-9. Catawba (17-11) and UVA Wise (17-10) round out the top 10 in the Southeast Region.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
