Smith and Louis-Jeune lead Bears past Jaguars in first round of NCAA Tournament
COLUMBUS, GA - Coming off the high of winning a conference championship the Bears continue to roll, taking down #6 seeded Augusta 94-79 to win their first NCAA Tournament game since 2016. The Bears battled many factors in this game, most notably the time, as the game had to be moved up to 10 a.m. due to weather concerns later tonight.
Leading the way for LR was Tay Smith and Hantz Louis-Jeune, who combined for 43 points and went 7-10 from behind the arc.
This win was a milestone victory for Lenoir-Rhyne, as their 27 wins is now the most in a single season in school history.

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Trailing by 11 with 3:49 to go, Carson-Newman (21-12) outscored top-seeded and eighth-ranked Columbus State (27-4) 15-5 down the stretch, but a potential game-winning bucket at the horn was a touch long and the host Cougars hung on for a 75-74 win in the opening round of the NCAA tournament at the Lumpkin Center.
Columbus State advances to the round of the 32 to face the winner of fourth-seeded Lincoln Memorial and fifth-seeded UNC Pembroke Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
Men's Basketball downed by USC Aiken in opening round of NCAA Regionals
COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Catawba College men's basketball team finished its 2024-25 campaign in the NCAA Southeast Regional quarterfinal round with an 80-71 defeat at the hands of second-seeded USC Aiken on Saturday afternoon at the Lumpkin Center.
