Anderson Earns Top Seed as Four SAC Men's Basketball Programs Earn Bids to DII Tournament
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Four South Atlantic Conference men's basketball teams were selected to the field of 64 teams as the NCAA announced the bracket for the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship Sunday evening. Anderson earned the No. 1 seed in the Southeast Region and will host the regional tournament, while Catawba is the No. 3 seed, Lenoir-Rhyne earned the No. 4 seed and Lincoln Memorial was selected as the No. 7 seed.
Anderson claimed the top seed in the Southeast Region after winning both the 2025-26 South Atlantic Conference regular-season and tournament championships. The Trojans will host the eight-team regional and enter the NCAA Tournament looking to continue their dominant season on their home floor.
Catawba secured the No. 3 seed in the regional after another strong campaign and will look to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament as one of the region's top teams.
Lenoir-Rhyne earned the No. 4 seed following a solid season that positioned the Bears among the top teams in the Southeast Region and secured their place in the NCAA Tournament field.
Lincoln Memorial received the No. 7 seed in the region and will make another appearance in the NCAA Tournament as the Railsplitters continue their postseason tradition.
This is the SAC-leading 13th NCAA Tournament appearance for both Lincoln Memorial and Catawba. The Bears are dancing for the 12th time in program history and this will be Anderson's fourth trip since joining the SAC. Lenoir-Rhyne is the defending Regional Champions, winning in head coach Brent Owen's first season.
