Queens Wins 2022 SAC Men's Golf Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Queens Royals led from wire to wire and brought home the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship at the Graysburg Hills Golf Club in Chuckey, Tenn. on Tuesday (April 12). The Royals shot a three-round total of 837, 27-under-par, defeating runner-up Newberry (-15, 849) by 12 strokes.
Lincoln Memorial (-14, 850) took home third place, followed by Limestone (-12, 852) in fourth and Carson-Newman (-11, 853) in fifth. Tusculum and Coker both tied for sixth at one-over-par, 865, while Lenoir-Rhyne (+6, 870) finished eighth and Anderson (+15, 879) finished ninth. Wingate (+31, 895) finished 10th, followed by Catawba (+33, 897) in 11th, UVA Wise (+59, 923) in 12th, and Mars Hill (+104, 968) in 13th.
Following a sudden victory playoff, Limestone's Pontus Samuelsson earned medalist honors with a three-round total of 202, 14-under-par. Queens' Drake Wilcox also shot 202, 14-under-par for the tournament in second place, while Newberry's Tom Bueschges and Queens' Ollie Smith tied for third at 11-under-par, 205.

With the win, Queens earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Tournament which will take place May 5-7 at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga.
