Bochaton And Kaung Kyaw Named SAC WEPLAYED Sports Golfers of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Amely Bochaton was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Golfer of the Week and Emory & Henry's Jordan Kaung Kyaw was named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Golfers of the Week for events played during the third two weeks of the 2024-25 season, the Conference office announced today.  

Bochaton, a freshman from Evian Les Bains, France, continues to shatter records for the Bulldogs, shooting an incredible 17-under par 199 to take home the individual title at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial, while breaking Wingate's 18, 36 and 54-hole scoring records. She tied her own 18-hole record that she set the previous week in rounds one and three, but broke that record with a 7-under par 65 in the second round. Bochaton has shot in the 60s in six of her nine collegiate rounds so far and has never shot over 73. She is 28-under for the season, with a 68.9 stroke average.

Kaung Kyaw, a junior from Yangon, Myanmar, led E&H to a second-place finish -- by just one shot -- at the Richard Rendleman Invitational as he finished second overall by two strokes at -6. He had the low round of the tournament at -7 (64) on Monday morning which was also the best 18-hole raw score in program history and tied for the best score to par. His 54-hole score of -6 tied for the best in program history. E&H's team score of 851 (-1) was the best 54-hole total in program history, 30 shots better than the previous record. The Wasps' first and second rounds are now the two best team 18-hole totals.

This bi-monthly award is given to the top golfer in the SAC based on their results from the previous two weeks of play.
