Wingate and Lincoln Memorial Punch Ticket to Men's Golf Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate and Lincoln Memorial advanced to the championship match of the 2026 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship after earning semifinal victories in medal match play on Tuesday at The Preserve at Verdae in Greenville, South Carolina.
Top-seeded Wingate defeated fourth-seeded Anderson, 4.5-0.5, to punch its ticket to the final. The Bulldogs were led by dominant performances throughout the lineup, highlighted by Brandon Skidmore's convincing 7UP victory and Lewis Beeden's 3UP win. Mattia D'Errico added a 2UP victory, while Alfie Storer secured a 1UP win to round out Wingate's four points.
In the other semifinal, second-seeded Lincoln Memorial posted a 4.5-0.5 win over third-seeded Catawba to advance. The Railsplitters saw four strong wins, including a 5UP victory from Ryan Gavin and a 4UP win from Wyatt Cochran. Morgan Cain earned a 3UP victory, while Edward Mason added a 2UP win to seal the team result.
Lincoln Memorial's Harry Dickins and Catawba's Paul Esnault battled to a tie in their matchup.
With the wins, Wingate and Lincoln Memorial will meet in the championship match on Tuesday afternoon as they compete for the 2026 SAC Men's Golf title.
