Four SAC Schools Selected to NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Tournament Field
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Four South Atlantic Conference schools were selected to compete in the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Tournament as the field was released tonight. Wingate will be a host site as they earned the No. 2 seed.
The Bulldogs went undefeated in conference play in the regular season and ranked No. 5 in the nation but fell in the SAC Championship game this afternoon. The Bulldogs will host the winner of the No. 7 seed vs. No. 10 seed game.
Newberry, the SAC Tournament Champions, earned the automatic bid to the tournament thanks to a 15-11 win over Wingate on Sunday. The win earned the Wolves the No. 5 seed in the tournament and they will travel to Lewis for an opening round game.
Lenoir-Rhyne was the No. 6 seed after going 11-4 in the regular season. The Bears, the 2023 National Champions, will head to No. 3 seed Florida Tech for their tournament opener.
Anderson was the final at-large berth from the SAC, garnering the No. 7 seed. The Trojans will host No. 10 seed Barton in a first round game and would move on to play Wingate in the next round should they get past Barton.
