Lenoir-Rhyne’s Robert Dough named Men’s Soccer Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne College freshman forward Robert Dough (Asheboro, N.C./Asheboro HS) is this week's South Atlantic Conference men's soccer Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday afternoon.
Dough tallied a goal and an assist in Lenoir-Rhyne's 3-0 SAC home victory over Catawba Wednesday afternoon. With the triumph, the Bears picked up their first win over Catawba since the 2000 season.
The Asheboro High School graduate leads Lenoir-Rhyne with 14 points (five goals and four assists) in 2006. Dough and his teammates have helped the Bears compile a 10-1 overall record and a number 18 national ranking.
Lenoir-Rhyne steps out of the league fray for two non-conference matches in the next seven days. The Bears visit Bluefield State (W.Va.) College Wednesday for a 7 p.m. contest. On Monday (Oct. 9), Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Murfreesboro, N.C. for a 3 p.m. match against Chowan University.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
